ABSTRACT
Following a recommendation of the Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm in 1972 (see Section II, Chapter 2 of this book), the United Nations Environment Programme* (UNEP) was created.
Environment was an upcoming concern in several parts of the world, and the creation of UNEP as a program was an early response of the international community to this concern.
