ABSTRACT

The job descriptions presented for the Quality Manager and the Environmental Manager are indicative of job descriptions intended for representatives whose sole responsibility is either quality or environmental. Management shall provide resources essential to the implementation and control of the environmental management system. The key combined requirements of the representative are to: ensure that system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the International Standards; and to report on the performance of the system to top management for review. The supplier shall identify resource requirements and provide adequate resources, including the assignment of trained personnel, for management, performance of work and verification activities including internal quality audits. It is critical to any program that each and every person understand their responsibilities and the extent of their assigned authority within those responsibilities. As the “front-line” manager, supervisors have the primary responsibility for ensuring the day-to-day management of the quality and environmental programs and adherence to the organization’s operational policy.
