ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we consider a powerful technique available in semifields of “fusing” selected nuclei. In particular, we recall that the affine planes pi(D), coordinatized by a semifield D, have maximal homology groups of three distinct types, each isomorphic to the multiplicative group of certain subfields of D, that may be characterized as being the left, middle and right associators of D. This material follows Jha and Johnson [634] but here we give either no proof or a brief sketch of the proof.
