ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we review the connections between ovoids of hyperbolic quadrics in PG(5, q) and spreads on PG(3, q). Most of the necessary background has already been given in our part on symplectic and orthogonal geometry. Here the focus is on two-dimensional translation planes, that is, spreads in PG(3, q) and parallelisms in PG(3, q) that lead to translation planes of larger dimension.
