ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we touch on some of the many varieties of designs and geometries that may be connected to or constructed from translation planes. There are also many connections to partial and semi-partial geometries, gamma spaces, and so on, so our treatment will only scratch the surface of connections with translation planes. The reader is directed to Beth-Jungnickel-Lenz [111] for a rigorous general treatment of designs. We are content here merely to point to a few connections with designs and translation planes and with classical geometries and translation planes. For example, we shall mention a few connections with unitals, inversive planes and divisible designs.
