ABSTRACT

In this chapter we will discuss some approaches to modelling the distribution process of a drug. In Chapter 4 we have discussed some of the factors, including drug properties like its size and how lipophil or soluble the drug is, that influence how a particular drug becomes distributed in the body. In this chapter we leave the physiological background aside but want to find ways to describe the distribution of a given drug in the body, based on only the information that is given by its plasma profile. We want descriptions that give us additional information to the basic volume description of Chapter 2.
