ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 dealt with binding systems in which there was only one species of ligand present, but one or more binding sites (possibly nonidentical) per macromolecule. But the uptake or release of multiple types of ligands by a single macromolecule is ubiquitous throughout biochemistry. When the binding behavior of one ligand species is influenced by that of the other ligand species; there is binding linkage between the species.
