ABSTRACT
The highest level of protection against an external airborne hazard is achieved by supplying filtered makeup air at a rate sufficient to produce a positive internal pressure in a building. The internal pressure induces an outward flow of clean air through leakage paths to reduce or prevent infiltration, depending upon the level of overpressure relative to external pressures exerted on the leakage paths by wind and stack effect.
