ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 examined the relationship between the energy exchange and the flow patterns within the blade and vane rows of turbomachines. Blade linear velocity (U), fluid velocity relative to the blade (W), and fluid absolute velocity (C) vectors were employed to analyze rudimentary blade layout and blade loading and to develop some basic design limitations for pumping machinery based on diffusion limits.
