ABSTRACT
Raw cotton fiber, after ginning and mechanical cleaning, is approximately 95% cellulose
(Table 3.1) [96-99]. The structure of cotton cellulose, a linear polymer of b-D-glucopyranose, is discussed in Chapter 5 and chemical properties in Chapter 6.
