ABSTRACT
I. Introduction A variety of imaging techniques can be used to evaluate the pleura and the pleural space. Standard radiographs are the most common. Sonography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have assumed an increasing and important role in the diagnosis of pleural disease. This chapter will discuss a variety of diffuse and focal pleural processes and the contribution of each of these imaging techniques to diagnosis and management of pleural disease.
