ABSTRACT
The future in this chapter begins with a review of Chapter 2. The United States is starting with a fl eet of vehicles that have poor fuel economy. The mpg is poor compared with the vehicles in the rest of the world. The mpg is poor compared with what might have been possible using the advances in technology.
