ABSTRACT

A number of materials based on lipids, polymers, inorganic materials have been developed in the past in order to have better pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of the drugs compared to the free drugs. —e search for such materials in the nanometer regime is also logical because of many desirable properties that come with the reduced size like high surface-to-volume ratio, access to multiple functionalities, tunability of properties, and controlled synthesis. But there are stringent requirements that need to be ful™lled by any carrier for successful commercialization.
