ABSTRACT

Bioresorbable materials have been used as implants for bone reconstruction in clinical …eld. The ideal implant materials should ful…ll several criteria. The materials are basically required to have biocompatibility (nontoxicity) and bioactivity. Bioactivity is regarded as an ability of bonding to the host bone directly in body in the research …eld of implant materials. Various types of bioceramics have been developed as the implant materials, particularly calcium phosphates have been reported to show an excellent bioactivity. In fact, bioresorbable polymer and calcium phosphate composite materials also have been investigated to be applied to the implant materials enhancing bone formation.
