Sample Size Calculations for Non-inferiority Clinical Trials with Normal Data

In Chapter 5 calculations were discussed for trials in which the objective is to demonstrate that two treatments are clinically the same. In this chapter calculations are described when the objective is to show one treatment is no worse than another, with one treatment an investigative, or new, treatment and the other a standard treatment.
