Sample Size Calculations for Parallel Group Superiority Clinical Trials with Binary Data

This chapter describes the sample size calculations for trials in which the primary outcome is binary. As discussed in Chapter 1 binary outcomes are common endpoints in clinical trials and appear when the outcome of interest is a two-point response variable such as presence/absence, alive/dead or yes/no.
