ABSTRACT

Other than peripheral aspects such as asymptotic r elationships to normal curve procedures, the theory of randomization tests is not extensively developed. The task ther efore is not a matter of pr esenting theory that has been developed but of pr oposing theory. The function of this chapter is not to explain what randomization test theory should be because that would be premature. The aim is to provide a technique of viewing randomization tests consistent with the book as a whole and within a framework that will be helpful in understanding the basic aspects of randomization tests.
