ABSTRACT
Of all the whole-field interferometric techniques, electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) is the most practical tool for application to in situ engineering measurements. The purpose of this chapter is to convey how relatively easily ESPI can be applied by the non-specialist in the field of optics or alternatively by people trained as mechanical engineers such as the authors.
