ABSTRACT
The oceans and other aquatic ecosystems are vital to the sustainability of all life on Earth. In particular, these aquatic systems provide food for humans and livestock. Overfi shing and pollution of fresh and saltwater habitats threaten the continued productivity of aquatic systems.
