ABSTRACT
Phase encoding is the third and final step in the localization of the magnetic resonance (MR) signal. Phase encoding is performed in a direction at right angles to both slice selection and frequency encoding. The Phase Encoding Demonstrator program is used early in this chapter to introduce the principles of the technique, and is later used in a more quantitative way.
