ABSTRACT

Several topics that have been covered in earlier chapters are now brought together, and we shall see how an image can be generated. Spatial localization, which was described in Chapters 5 to 7, will be combined with operations designed to emphasize differences between the signals emitted by materials with different relaxation times, covered in Chapter 4. When pulse sequences are combined with spatial localization in this way, they are called imaging sequences. The first imaging sequence that we shall consider is the spin-echo sequence. The Spin-Echo Demonstrator program is used in this chapter to support the description of the principles of the imaging sequence.
