The idea of a j-plane arose from Kantor’s work on the slicing of ovoids [157], when the author used this analysis to …nd representations of the translation planes that arose from the slices. Using the basic representation of the spreads, Johnson, Pomareda and Wilke [155], construct j-planes and develop the theory in the …nite case, in particular for j = 1; 2, where j = 1-planes may be obtained by slicing.
