ABSTRACT
Much has changed since the start of the environmental movement. Statutes such as the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Superfund Act were enacted in an era of gross environmental contamination. Air pollution episodes, rivers with dead fish, and uncontrolled waste disposal sites resulting in contaminated drinking water were prevalent. Thirty years later, we are in an era where gross contamination incidents have been significantly reduced.
