ABSTRACT
One purpose for discussing the different facility types is to examine the various ways in which the MARSSIM methodology can be implemented. For example, a facility that produces sealed sources may be expected to have only interior contamination from a number of alpha-and beta-emitting sources. The MARSSIM application may consist of the Sign test using the unity rule for alpha and beta surface activity measurements. Perhaps another site is contaminated with uranium that might entail the use of the WRS test for land areas. How would the MARSSIM be applied to research laboratories contaminated with H-3 and C-14? How about a power reactor being decommissioned?
