ABSTRACT

A review of product recalls and of citations in the FDA establishment inspection reports (EIRs) makes it clear that packaging and labeling operations are where most mix-ups and errors occur. These operations are usually the last steps in manufacturing dietary supplement products, so errors or mistakes in packaging and/or labeling can spoil all of the good work that has gone before. For these reasons, avoiding problems at this point in the process is a topic particularly worthy of careful attention.
