ABSTRACT

THE PRIME IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY The Dietary Supplement Good Manufacturing Practice (DS GMP) regulations are essentially about a means of achieving consistent quality in products made. There are many definitions of quality, which is a somewhat subjective term, but all address meeting consumers’ expectations. This means that the product as purchased will, in fact, be what is claimed on the label, will be fit for use, and will not be contaminated with anything that may be harmful. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) defines dietary supplement quality, stating that it means that the product meets its established specifications for identity, purity, strength, and composition, and has been manufactured, labeled, and held under conditions to prevent adulteration.
