ABSTRACT
There are numerous texts available that discuss controls and instrumentation. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a general overview of controls and instrumentation for pharmaceutical water systems. Chapters 11 and 13 will discuss specification preparation and validation of pharmaceutical water purification systems. The objective of this chapter is as follows:
l Present a general overview of control, monitoring, and instrumentation terminologies associated with specifications and drawings for water purification systems such as process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
