ABSTRACT

The first step in understanding the spectrum of the sun is understanding optical spectra in general and the kinds of objects that emit waves that can be analyzed by a spectrum. Again from analysis with the help of prisms, we know that standard light sources like burning candles or the sun have a spectrum. Are such kinds of objects the only objects that have a spectrum? At the end of the nineteenth century, it had been observed that all bodies radiate, and that the relative intensities of the colors depend on the body’s temperature.
