ABSTRACT
The reaction of phenol and formaldehyde produces a product that forms a highly cross-linked three-dimensional polymer when cured. The resins have found use in various applications in the coatings industry because of their excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical properties. They also offer good adhesion to many substrates and have good compatibility with other polymers.
