ABSTRACT
In some other instances, location (or relocation) of a piece of equipment may be planned. Examples include relocation of a lathe in a machine shop, placement of a new X-ray machine in a hospital, and installation of a new copy machine in an office building. In each case, a number of suitable locations might be available; however, the cost of placing a machine might be different in each location. It could depend on such factors as the present condition of the site and/or the modifications required to the foundation as well as the surroundings. In some areas, preparation of the site would demand no additional expenditure, but in other areas it might require extensive work such as the installation of plumbing fixtures, sewage systems, and electric outlets; redesigning the area; and even perhaps the installation of air-conditioning systems.
