ABSTRACT

Electric motors are manufactured in a variety of types and conŽgurations. Typically, an electric motor assembly includes ahollow, substantially cylindrical-shaped housing with astator and arotor disposed within the housing interior and an endbell at each end of the housing for providing protections to the motor components against the insertion or intrusionof solid/liquid objects under various environmental conditions. In addition to rotors and stators, some motors may have electronic components that are used to improve operatingcharacteristics for particular applications. These electronic components also need to be well protected.
