ABSTRACT

Characteristics such as the strength and ductility of iron and steel are referred to as mechanical properties. These properties are determined by microstructural characteristics, such as grain size and the volume fraction of each phase, and material properties prediction models can be used to predict microstructural changes and the resulting mechanical properties under various rolling and process conditions. The strength of iron and steel increases with ner grain size, and each phase has a different hardness. Accordingly, the mechanical properties are determined by the grain size and the volume fraction of each phase.
