ABSTRACT
Due to its many advantages, practical applications of DSP are increasing ever more quickly over time. The following are just examples of such applications:
1. Telecommunications (cellular phones, digital TV, digital cameras, satellite communications, and so on)
2. Biomedical engineering (CT scans, MRI, enhancement, and storage of X-ray images)
3. Entertainment (HDTV, MP3, DVD’s … etc.) 4. Instrumentation and control (Data Acquisition Systems [DAS], telemetry, …
etc.)
This chapter is devoted to highlighting some representative DSP techniques and applications.
