ABSTRACT
Tandem cells for very high concentrations? Why is the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy (ISE) involved in this technology? The answer is simple: in our opinion the tandem cell combined with concentrator technology will play a role in the future energy market. In this chapter, the motivation for high concentration cells, the state-of-the-art of our tandem cell development and the application of dual-junction cells in concentrator modules are discussed.
