ABSTRACT

Interoperability: It adapts to current network infrastructures, which are heterogeneous. Since PO-VPNs are based on agent technology and these agents are themselves transport and computer independent, they therefore promote interoperability among systems and software. New service deployment: Agents are used for the implementation of new protocols that are not currently in existence or not currently standardized. Resource management: Locations have interfaces to the agency’s resource manager or each has its own resource manager. Flexibility/adaptivity: Ability to dynamically make changes to the configuration of the PO-VPN and services it offers. Security, privacy, and admission control: Security is a must. It has an extensive authentication/authorization scheme that is supported for the agents that want to execute in locations of this PO-VPN.
