ABSTRACT

The genus Eubacterium is composed of obligately anaerobic, asaccharolytic, gram-positive, nonspore-forming, rod-shaped bacteria.1 The genus is distinguished from other genera generally on the basis of the negative metabolic characteristics of its representative species.2 In addition to the nonreactivity in conventional biochemical tests, Eubacterium species are difŠcult to culture, presenting slow growth even on artiŠcial media designed for fastidious microorganisms and under strict anaerobic conditions.3
