ABSTRACT
In order to better understand how to inject a consideration of situation awareness (SA) into the design of systems, we will provide a brief overview of the typical system design process used across many different industries. The names of the phases and exact process can vary quite a bit from industry to industry and from company to company. In general, however, the broad descriptions of the processes and the design cycle presented here have a role in many different types of development efforts.
