ABSTRACT
Weaving is as old as civilization. Beside the need to design a suitable mat to sit or sleep on, primitive humans acquired more creative skills such as basket weaving using pliable grasses and barks, with the nests of birds and interwoven stems of plants being the creative patterns directing humans to weaving. Women were those who engaged themselves in this occupation, producing mats, saddles, and carriage bags.
