ABSTRACT

Ergonomics action programs are gaining impetus in Asia for products and facilities design and for improving industrial and agricultural workplaces. These programs refl ect the growing awareness of the fact that the reduction of ergonomics-related risks at work is possible despite many constraints when workplace people are directly involved in preventing occupational accidents and many work-related diseases (Kogi, 1995, 1998, 2006; Kawakami et al., 1998; ILO 2001; Zalk, 2001).
