The quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) is the most fundamental approach in identifying a chemical compound, in order to elucidate its functionality based on the chemical structure. In the case of protein, the four structure categories, primary, secondary, tertiary, and quarterly, are involved. Above all, the sequence data, in other words “primary structure,” is the basis of all other structure data. Recently, the importance of the function of oligopeptide, especially tripeptide, has been emphasized in explaining the mechanism of functionality of the entire molecule of protein (Nakai et al., 2005a). Similarly, the critical role of peptide sequence to construct the best function in peptide/protein has been recognized as the †nal as well as eternal objective of protein chemistry.
