ABSTRACT
The area of mathematics called “number theory” might be loosely described as the study of arithmetic properties of integers, usually those concerning divisibility, prime factorization, congruences, and representations of a natural number as sums of others. See virtually any text on number theory (for example, [19]) for a better idea of what other topics might be considered as number theoretic.
