Service Differentiation on E-Commerce Servers
Service differentiation aims to provide differentiated quality of service (QoS) to requests from different clients. Service differentiation on an e-commerce should also treat the requests in the same session from the same client differently according to his/her access patterns. For example, a checkout request is obviously more important than catalog browsing and should be responded with little delay. In this chapter, we propose a two-dimensional (2D) service differentiation model for on-line transactions to provide different levels of QoS to sessions from different customer classes and to requests in different states of a session.
