ABSTRACT
Injection molding is the most common and versatile of all plastic conversion processes. In this process, plastic pellets, also known as resin, are fed through a barrel with a series of heaters that aid in melting the resin pellets and maintaining the barrel temperature. The material is then injected under high pressure into the mold cavity. Once the plastic has cooled, the mold opens to eject the part.
