Sympathomimetic and Serotonergic Drugs Used to Treat Obesity
Both norepinephrine and serotonin modulate feeding. Depending on the receptor systems activated, they can either increase or decrease food intake. Activation of the serotonin IA receptor or the norepinephrine-activated a2 receptor can increase feeding. Activation of the other receptors by norepinephrine or serotonin reduces food intake.
