ABSTRACT

Currently, DDGS is mainly used as feed for ruminants especially, dairy and beef cattle (Chapters 12 and 13). Swine and poultry (Chapters 14 and 15) are nonruminants and do not digest DDGS „ber very well. The inclusion levels of DDGS in swine and poultry diets are low due to the high „ber content in DDGS (Noll et al., 2001; Shurson, 2002). Therefore, separation of „ber would help to increase utilization of DDGS in poultry and swine diets. Fiber separation would result in products with higher protein and fat contents and lower „ber levels than regular DDGS and could increase the market value of DDGS due to the improved nutritional value, especially for nonruminants.
