ABSTRACT
Warfarin has been commercially available since 1954 and is the sole oral anticoagulant available in the United States. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) estimates that 2,000,000 patients in the United States start taking warfarin each year to prevent or treat thrombotic conditions.
