ABSTRACT
A 34-year-old woman who was nine-weeks pregnant presented with a lump in the superior aspect of the right breast that had been present for approximately two years. The lump had been previously investigated elsewhere and fine needle aspiration cytology performed-the latter was classified as “C1.” The patient felt that the lump had recently increased in size and therefore sought a second opinion. There was no family history of breast or ovarian cancer and this was the patient's first pregnancy. She had used the oral contraceptive pill for a cumulative period of more than 10 years.
