ABSTRACT

Satadal Das is a consultant microbiologist at Peerless Hospital and B.K. Roy Research Centre at Kolkata, India. His main areas of research at present are on silicon utilizing microorganisms, isolation of newer antibiotics from microorganisms in a barren island of the Sundarbans-the world’s largest mangrove forest, and the effect of titanium on bacterial growth and nutrition. He has published 39 papers in various journals and presented more than 100 papers in various international and national conferences. He is a member of 11 scientific societies and is the secretary of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists, West Bengal Chapter. At present he is the president of National Space Society-Kolkata Chapter.
