ABSTRACT

Project tracking and controlling is a project manager responsibility as well as a project team effort. This practice area prescribes activities related to examining and reporting project performance. Such attention to project performance is a primary method for ensuring that the project is progressing satisfactorily and that it will fulfill objectives and expectations when completed on time and within budget. Also, it enables the project manager to prepare reports for review by othersfor example, the project management office (PMO), the project executive (sponsor), and the customer-so that they too are informed about project performance progress and status.
