CHALLENGING CASE A 57-year-old gentleman with a sigmoid colon cancer found via colonoscopy for a history of anemia and weight loss is awaiting surgery. You stop by the pre-op holding area to see the patient where he tells you, “I tried drinking that prep last night and after only half a glass I got sick and threw up. I just couldn’t take it.” Do you perform elective surgery?
